Suspected mass shooter in Texas stopped and stoned to death.

A Fort Worth police cruiser. Police handout.

A suspected mass shooter in Texas was stopped by citizens who stoned the man to death. Fox News. The incident happened at a party in Fort Worth. The suspect was kicked out of the party but then returned with a firearm. An argument ensued and the suspect shot some. The rest of the party goers tried to chase the gunman who opened fire. One of the party goers picked up a landscaping brick and threw it at the suspect, who was knocked down and shot two more people. The suspect was hit more times by more bricks and was killed. One of the people who was shot died as well.

My Comment:

Just a quick post about an interesting story. It's not every day that someone is stoned to death while attempting a mass shooting. That is the best outcome in this case as the suspect was brought to justice before he could kill too many people.

I have always said that short of running away, fighting back is the best solution when there is a mass shooting. Preferably, you would use your own firearm but this incident shows that anything that is at hand will be useful in fighting back. The goal is to survive and stop the shooter and if that means shooting at him, tackling him or even throwing a landscaping brick at his head then that's what you do.

It will be interesting to see if the people or person that killed the attacker will be charged with anything. I know Texas has pretty good self-defense laws so I would imaging the stone thrower should be safe. But you never know these days. Some very obvious cases of self-defense have resulted in charges recently, so it's possible something like that could happen here. And I guess it is possible the stone thrower(s) did exceed self defense.

Still, it's tragic that another person had to die and two more were wounded before this attacker was put down. Without more details of the incident it is unclear what exactly happened but it seems like this guy just wanted to take revenge on people who didn't want him around. Which is absolutely stupid reason to try and kill someone over...
