Ghislaine Maxwell, socialite and girlfriend to notorious sex trafficker and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, has been arrested in Maryland and will appear in Federal Court on Thursday. CNBC. Epstein himself was charged with trafficking and abusing underage girls but died in prison, officially from suicide. Maxwell has faced calls for her arrest for some time as she was accused of helping facilitate Epstein's activities. The Southern District of New York has a press conference scheduled for noon today.

My Comment:
Just a quick post about a huge case. The Jeffrey Epstein case is one of the most notorious and explosive political and criminal stories to come out in the past few years and Maxwell was a huge part of it. We don't have a whole lot of information at this point but it's clear that this is going to be a major news story for the rest of the week.

Ever since Epstein's death, people have wanted Maxwell in custody. She was Epstein's right hand woman and she knows where all the bodies are buried, figuratively but perhaps literally as well. The hope is that with her arrest she will turn state's witness and throw everyone under the bus that needs to be, such as Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew.

Maxwell's behavior was so bad though that I don't think she actually deserves a deal. She helped Epstein rape, traffic and molest these girls for a long time. She's almost as bad as he was and she deserves to be punished for what she has done.

However, the great fear now is that what happened to Epstein will happen to her as well. Very few people actually believe that Epstein killed himself and if he actually did not than there is a decent chance what happened to him will happen to her. And even if Epstein wasn't actually killed, the prison/jail where Maxwell will be held should obviously have a 24/7 suicide watch.

A lot of people will likely say that this case will have election consequences, but I doubt that will be the case. President Trump's contact with Epstein was fairly limited and he never went to his creepy island. Bill and Hillary Clinton might get burned but neither of them are running and as far as I am aware Joe Biden has not connections with Epstein.

The real story is likely the fate of Prince Andrew. He is suspected of partaking in Epstein's trafficked girls and if Maxwell goes state's witness against him he might be in major trouble. Being royalty he might be hard to bring to justice but my hope is that his station won't protect him. It's probably a pipe dream to see him in a prison cell but at the very least he needs to be further exposed.

There have been suggestions that both Epstein and Maxwell are connected to various intelligence networks. Israel is the one most frequently mentioned, but I'm guessing they aren't the only one. I'm still convinced that Epstein was using a blackmail operation to gain intel for a state actor. Hopefully, with Maxwell finally in custody, we will find out the truth, once and for all.
