A 2nd woman comes forward and accuses Joe Biden of "inappropriate touching".

Joe Biden. Politico/AP.

A 2nd woman has come forward claiming that Joe Biden touched her inappropriately. Politico. Amy Lapos, a campaign volunteer said that Biden had gotten into her face and touched noses with her in 2009 at a fundraising event. This comes after another woman, Lucy Flores, said that Biden had sniffed her hair and kissed the back of her head. Biden's spokesman, for his part, have blasted photos of Biden touching people saying some were doctored and in other cases that the people in them did not mind. Both Lapos and Flores said that they didn't come forward because they were afraid of not being believed.

My Comment:
As expected another accuser has come out. I predicted this would happen and that it would be bad news for Biden. One accuser is nothing but when it's multiple people saying the same thing then it starts to be more serious. At least this is a credible claim, if things hold the way they have gone for other sex scandals the more outrageous and unbelievable claims will come next.

As for the accusation itself, it's pretty much a joke. Getting in someone's face and touching noses with them is absolutely creepy, but being creepy in itself is not a crime. Indeed, if it only happened one time and nobody said anything to Biden about it then I don't know if it even count as harassment. It is, to borrow a stupid phrase, a total nothingburger.

That being said, I don't know what kind of reason Biden would have to ever do this to someone. Perhaps he is one of those people where the concept of personal space just doesn't exist? Either that or it's some kind of power move. I know if a woman got that close to me I'd assume she wanted to make out or something, so it's a pretty strong signal of interest.

I have little doubt that Lapos is telling the truth about this incident. Biden has proven time and time again that he touches people in ways that make others uncomfortable. Doing what he is accused of is not out of character for him.

As for the Biden camp's latest denial, it reminds me of Hillary Clinton's "vast rightwing conspiracy" comments. Almost all of the evidence against Biden that isn't these women's statements come from videos that haven't been altered. It's clear that Biden makes people uncomfortable and to argue that it's just a bunch of trolls making this up is a pretty clear deflection.

I do say that as of right now Biden still probably survives this. Even in the current state of the Democratic Party, what Biden did was pretty minor. Indeed, this second incident is pretty much a joke. As much as I hate Biden's policies, I don't want his career to be over just because of the 2nd incident. What he did is pretty pathetic but I don't think it's anywhere near a big enough of a deal to end his political career, even if you admit the 1st incident was more serious. And even that one was fairly minor in the scheme of things.

But what will probably kill his presidential aspirations is if an accuser comes forward that says he made her uncomfortable when she was a child. It's pretty clear that Biden gets touchy-feely with women and girls. Doing what he stands accused of with women is creepy and weird but ultimately nothing. But doing it with children? That's a career ender.

Finally, I still haven't figured out who is going after Joe Biden and why. It's very clear that someone doesn't want him to run for President in 2020. The timing rules out the GOP as they would have waited until the general election to spring this on Biden. My guess is it was either the economic wing or the social justice "woke" wing of the Democratic Party. Neither of those groups want Biden and it's possible they are working against them. And it's possible that the DNC itself got this out there, either to eliminate Biden for some reason or to get the accusations out of the way now. Time will tell if this succeeds.
