Mass stabbing in Saskatchewan Canada leaves 10 people dead 15 wounded with two suspects on the run.

A mass stabbing in Saskatchewan Canada has left 10 people dead and 15 people wounded, with two suspects on the run.  CBS News. The victims were stabbed in 13 different locations across Saskatchewan including the James Smith Cree Nation and the village of Weldon. Two suspects, Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson, are on the run from Canadian authorities, possibly driving a black Nissan Rogue. The attacks began around 6:00 am and continued until around noon. No motive has been released by police believe that some of the victims were known to the suspects while others were entirely random.

My Comment:

This is a developing story and could get worse before it gets better. Somehow these suspects are still on the run and could attack more people. And they could be almost anywhere, even the Canadian Government has issued alerts to other provinces. Until these two men are in custody things could change quite a bit. 

It's crazy to me that these men are still at large. Where where the police? I know this is a bit different than most mass killings as the attackers kept running around to new places, but you would have thought there would have been at least one officer to put these guys down. It might have been because the area is remote and unpopulated these places are. Weldon has around 200 people while the James Smith Cree Nation only has 3400 people. 

Of course this is Canada so there is no chance an armed civilian could have put these guys down. I doubt in the United States that these attackers would have been able to kill anywhere near as many people. But unfortunately the right to defend yourself does not exist in Canada when compared to the United States. 

Speaking of gun control, this attack shows how useless it is. These attackers didn't use guns and still got a double digit kill count, and their attack might not even be over yet. The limiting factor for these kinds of attacks isn't what weapon the attacker it's how quick the response is and if anyone can fight back. In this case these two men were able to kill 10 people because nobody fought back and they did it with knives. 

I won't speculate as to the motive for this attack, but I will note it is unusual that this attack involved two attackers. I would bet that the two attackers are related in someway since they share a last name. My guess would be that they are brothers, which might explain why they would be working together. Still, it's unusual for mass killers to have a partner, but not unprecedented. The Columbine shooting and the DC Beltway sniper attacks are two examples. 

There is probably going to be a social justice/woke angle here since the James Smith Cree Nation is a Native American settlement and the attackers appear to be Native American as well. I am not sure how that is going to play out but I am sure that it will make this whole situation even worse.
