Tonight Joe Biden cemented himself as the worst president in US history, with an insane and disgusting speech targeting half the country. He libeled millions of Americans including most of the readers of this blog. He has proven that he hates anyone that didn't vote for him in 2020.
Both Fox News and the New York Post had live updates for this speech but neither of them have a full transcript and I haven't seen any place that does. I did not see the whole speech but I saw enough to condemn it. It's an attack on anyone who doesn't agree with him, that much is sure. I will embed the video below.
One of the worst parts of this speech was the imagery. If Biden wasn't trying to look like a tyrant than he failed miserably His speech was delivered with red lighting and had two Marines standing behind him. That screenshot up there? That's not edited in any way as far as I am aware. I have no idea what Biden was thinking with that, does he seriously not know that red and black together like that has been tied with tyrannical regimes since the Nazi's?
So what was in Biden's speech? The same crap he has been saying for awhile now. He falsely accuses MAGA Republicans as being violent and a "threat to democracy", like we have ever even lived in a democracy. He also falsely claims that Republicans are going to roll back contraception, gay marriage and privacy rights. He also somehow seems to think that January 6th was anything but a protest but the massive riots we had in 2020 which were supported by his party aren't even worth mentioning.
I also think it was disgusting of him to use Marines in what is not only a political speech, but an implied threat to his political opponents. It seems as though he is suggesting that he will use those Marines against the people that oppose him.
I almost wonder if Biden is trying to incite violence from both sides of the political spectrum. There are a lot of disturbed people on the left who will believe Biden's lies. Some of those people will be violent. It's not without precedent, the same kind of rhetoric was used before and largely incited the Congressional Baseball Shooting.
And the right? They are going to see this as what it is, a threat. Biden is saying that if you don't support him you are basically a monster and deserve whatever is coming to you. And the presence of Marines are a direct military threat. Like I said in my post about a potential 2nd American Civil War, many on the right already feel that they have no options, as the ballot box, the soap box and the jury box have already been taken away and Biden is bound and determined to take the cartridge box away as well. With no other options and a President who explicitly hates half the country, why shouldn't they rise up? I can think of a few reasons why, but the list is getting shorter and shorter every day.
This is the exact opposite of lowering the temperature. And it's not like it would be hard to do. All Biden has to do is back down. Say that his opponents have a point. Stop attacking people just because they disagree with him. And admit that the 2020 election was an utter disaster. But he won't do that.
And I don't think this is the kind of speech a person confident in his political future gives. Indeed, I think Biden is terrified that his party is going to lose in 2022 and 2024. His only option is demonization because his approval is in the 30's and most people aren't listening to him anymore. Indeed, even the major networks didn't cover his speech, the broadcast networks just kept to their regular programing and Fox News stuck with Tucker Carlson.
If there was one hero tonight it was the heckler that was interrupting Biden's speech. Even in a tightly controlled environment like Biden was in, he still had a man that stood up to him and said Fuck Joe Biden. That man is a hero and I sincerely hope that Biden doesn't have arrested or otherwise attacked.
Biden's election was not legitimate but the voters that did go for him did so under the assumption that things would be returning to normal. But that obviously has not happened, Biden has proven himself to be a lot more divisive and unstable than Donald Trump could ever be. Indeed, even compared to previous Democratic Presidents, Biden has crossed the line. I can't see Barack Obama or Bill Clinton making a speech like this. They would be more savvy and less unhinged.
