CNN President Jeff Zucker out after "inappropriate relationship".

CNN President Jeff Zucker is out at the network after an "inappropriate relationship" with a fellow employee. Fox News. Zucker was in a relationship with network executive Allison Gollust that he did not disclose. Zucker has had major problems with the network. One of his anchors, Chris Cuomo, was fired due to inappropriate reporting and providing cover of his brother, Andrew Cuomo and his sex scandal. The relationship was discovered in the investigation of that coverup. CNN has been getting killed in the ratings with less than 500,000 viewers, far behind competitors MSNBC and Fox News.

My Comment:

Such a fall for what was the most respected cable news outlet. Now CNN is a joke, they have pissed away their credibility and have fallen so far behind MSNBC they have very little chance of keeping up. And Jeff Zucker is the main problem with the network. He's responsible for the network's far left shift and what caused them to hemorrhage viewers.

As for Zucker's relationship with Allison Gollust, it seems pretty minor. He absolutely should have disclosed it as that was part of his contract but I don't see this as much of a scandal. He shouldn't have done it but I don't think this was anywhere near the scandal that the Cuomo affair was.

Instead I think Zucker is being pushed out because of the ratings collapse. Indeed, I think this is the kind of thing that would be covered up if Zucker was bringing in the cash by actually competing with MSNBC and Fox News. You can't oversee the collapse in ratings and the huge Cuomo scandal without there being consequences.

Plus, the rot at CNN was worse than just the Cuomo scandal. A lot of CNN employees have been caught up in sex scandals of their own, including one that got pinched for sexual abuse. John Griffin was the worst of the bunch, trying to traffic a 9 year old girl. For awhile there it seemed like every CNN employee was getting arrested.

Whoever takes Zucker's job is going to have an uphill battle. CNN was kept afloat with the Trump Presidency and that is no longer a thing (for now). There isn't a market for a far left network as MSNBC has that market locked up. If they keep doing the same thing they have been doing they will fail.

I think the only way CNN could save themselves is if they decide to go full neutral. There aren't any networks out there that have even a shred of credibility because they are all beyond biased. If they were to run to the center and treat Democrats and Republicans absolutely the same they could possibly recover from their self inflicted destruction.
