Rand Paul's wife, Kelly Paul, writes op-ed condemning threats and violence from the Democrats.

Rand Paul's official senate portrait.

It's not often that I link to CNN but Rand Paul's wife, Kelly Paul, wrote an open letter and posted on their website. In the letter Paul describes how she and her husband have been threatened, doxxed and assaulted. She talks about how she now sleeps with a loaded gun by her bed and with extended police patrols by her house. Rand Paul was a victim of a major assault and was almost killed by one of his neighbors and Kelly Paul described how many in the media and celebrities celebrated. She also described how Rand Paul was almost killed during the Alexandria baseball shooting.

Kelly Paul's op-ed comes in response to Senator Corey Booker's call for protesters to get into the faces of Republican politicians. Paul was one of the politicians targeted in these incidents, but is far from the only one. Booker hasn't as of yet apologized for this despite Paul's call to rescind the statement. And unfortunately I doubt that he will do so anytime soon.

What's my take on this? After everything that has happened the past few years I doubt that any Democrats will listen. The Alexandria attacks didn't do anything. Rand Paul almost getting murdered didn't change anything. And the recent ricin attacks against Trump, Cruz, Mattis and Richardson will not change anything either.

Why? Because the Democrats have done everything in their power to claim that Republicans are worse than Nazis and that attacking them is morally correct. It's also funny that this was posted on CNN, which is one of the main drivers of this kind of behavior. They give people that attack Republicans massive positive coverage and attack people like President Trump 24/7/365.

The Democrats have gotten their base so riled up that they can no longer back down. If they suddenly say to their constitutes that they can't keep calling people Nazis and that violence isn't the solution to losing election, their supporters will turn on them. And if they don't then someone is going to get hurt.

I fear that things will get worse before they get better. With Brett Kavanaugh likely to be confirmed and the midterms not looking good for the Democrats because of the fallout from that attack, I predict that there is going to be more unrest and violence.

I have a great fear that how open our society is may be our downfall. The attacks against Rand Paul and Ted Cruz show that our senators our vulnerable and events like the Congressional Baseball Game are also prime targets. I just fear that with the environment we are in a assassination is possible or even likely...
