Pro-Russian Rebel propaganda poster in the background. Yahoo/AP
Siege warfare is being employed at the eastern city of Luhansk, and the civilians trapped in the city are beginning to suffer. -Yahoo/AP Residents are running out of food and clean water. Doctors have no medicine to treat patients. It's even hard for citizens to scrounge for supplies due to a fuel shortage. Indiscriminate shelling has occurred and an unlucky shell took out a power transformer cutting off power for most of the city. Some supplies from Russia arrived, but otherwise the situation is grim for residents of Luhansk.
My Comment:
As I predicted the battle for Luhansk has turned into a siege and the western media has taken notice of the civilian casualties. Sooner or later these people are going to starve, and when that happens people will find out about it. Widespread suffering and civilian casualties was enough to turn most of the media against Israel in the Gaza conflict. Will it happen here as well? I kind of doubt it. Even in this story you have the Luhansk resident saying that the Luhansk republic is worthless. The western media will still try to spin this as 100% the fault of Putin and the rebels while downplaying Ukraine's obvious role.
