Why? Here is the short list:
1. Even mentioning the conflict causes people to say some incredibly racist and horrible things. Supporters of both sides of the conflict are equally guilty of this. There are very few people that can hold an objective viewpoint for this conflict and discuss it rationally.
2. It's really nothing new. There really isn't anything to the story other then the age old cycle of revenge. Each side has been hurting each other for so long there really isn't any reason to go into whatever new grievance has popped up to rekindle the fighting. It's the same old story, one of our guys got hurt so we kill some of there guys and they do the same to us. And it repeats. Forever.
3. It won't matter much globally. Whatever happens in this conflict, it will be overshadowed by the various other conflicts in the region. This is just a spark, invisible against the all consuming inferno that is the middle east right now. As sad as it is, Israelis and Palestinians killing each other is status quo.
4. There really isn't anything to report yet other then death statistics and the fact that Israel's anti-rocket Iron Dome system seems to be working ok.
I might start covering it if something extraordinary happens but until then there are other issues that deserve coverage that have the added bonus of not attracting the worst people on the internet.
