5576 civilians have died and 11,665 have been wounded in Iraq since the beginning of the year. Yahoo/Reuters Last month alone 1531 civilians have been killed. 12 million people have also been displaced. ISIS has been accused of killing many and committing numerous war crimes including kidnapping, assassinations, killing of POW's and sexual violence.
My Comment:
More bad news from Iraq. Though to be honest i thought the numbers were going to be higher. Clearly though ISIS has been horrible towards Iraqi civilians. An untold amount of human suffering is occurring right now in Iraq and nobody seems to be willing or able to do anything about it. I am sure these numbers will go up in the weeks and months ahead.
