The British NSA equivalent, the GCHQ has several tools to manipulate websites and harass and censor people.  In addition to the earlier revelations of GCHQ manipulation, it is now known that the GCHQ can manipulate polls, find private facebook photos, disable internet accounts, inflate page views and increase traffic to websites. All this as the UK government debates giving even further surveillance power.

 My Comment:

More Snowden leaks. It's fairly obvious at this point that you can't trust to much on the internet. Although this post only covers GCHQ, I am sure the NSA has similar programs. It's frightening that the government has this much power. Manipulating the internet is basically manipulating thought.
