Joe Biden is accused of putting Ukraine ahead of America after a surprise visit to Kiev. NBC News. Biden took the trip to Ukraine at the same time as a major chemical disaster in East Palestine Ohio has occurred. Biden has, as of this writing, not visited the site of the train derailment. Biden was also accused of ignoring the crisis at the US borders while also deserving blame for starting the Ukraine war in the first place.
My Comment:
If Twitter is any indication the anger over this Ukraine trip is extreme. I know I was furious about it this morning when I read the news. It just feels like such a slap in the face.
Biden absolutely put Ukraine in front of the disaster in East Palestine. So far the Biden administration hasn't shown up there at all, despite it being a major chemical disaster. Pete Buttigieg tried to blame Donald Trump, but even that is more than Biden has done. As far as I know he hasn't even acknowledged the disaster happened.
It's utterly absurd because handling the disaster would have been easy. All Biden had to do is show up with some federal disaster funding and the story would have been essentially a non-issue. Instead the Biden administration downplayed the incident and totally botched the response. Indeed, it's hard to conclude anything other than total incompetence or actual malice in Biden's response to the disaster.
And it's hardly the only thing Biden put on the back burner. The border is an absolute mess as well. Crime is out of control, the economy is weak and people are still dealing with inflation. Biden has done nothing about any of this and is indeed causing much of it. Under Trump, the border, for example, was a solved issue. Not so much under Biden.
So what is Biden's priority? Giving money to Ukraine to fund a war that is not only unwinnable, but one that would expand into a nuclear exchange. Ukraine was never a vital strategic interest and we have done massive damage to our economy and the economy of our allies. And for what? Biden's bank account? We all know Biden is corrupt and used Ukraine to launder money through his son, Hunter.
It just shows how disconnected Biden is from regular Americans. Sure, some people care about the outcome in Ukraine, but most of them aren't willing to accept a worse standard of living to do so. And that doesn't count the people that are opposed to the war or want Russia to win. Either way, Ukraine is not the issue they want Biden to deal with.
