Christians in Iraq flee ISIS. Yahoo/Reuters

Christians in Baghdad, -CNN

Christians and other religious minorities fled Mosul over the weekend after an ISIS ultimatum passed. -Yahoo/Reuters. The leader of Iraq's largest church, Louis Raphael Soto, a Chaldean Catholic, said that even Genghis and Hulagu Khan were more merciful then ISIS. The Pope has publicly condemned the actions of ISIS. Refuges are reporting that even as they fled their goods were stolen by ISIS.

My Comment:
Good to see this story getting some coverage. The treatment of Christians and other religious minorities by ISIS is nothing less then despicable. Unfortunately I don't see the world doing anything about it. There is no appetite for war in the United States or Europe and Iraq is far more concerned about staying alive then protecting religious minorities they don't particularly like.

I will keep following this story since even though it's getting a bit more attention now, the treatment of Christians outside of the western world is still criminally under reported. Its not just in Iraq its across the middle east, in China, North Korea and various other places across the world. I know that Christianity is dominate in the western world so people here think that Christians being persecuted is simply not possible, but it does happen very frequently.
