2 dead, suspect shot in mass stabbing at Marseille France train station.

It's shaping up to be a major news day today as a second terror attack has occurred, this time in France. Reuters has an article up, and Newsweek is live updating, but here are the early basics:

-The suspect used a knife to kill two people (other sources have said they were women) and injure several more. The attack happened at a train station in Marseille, France.

-Police say that the attack was probably terrorism and that the suspect yelled "Allah Akbar", a common Muslim battlecry.

-A French solider shot and killed the attacker.

-The French Interior Minster is heading to the scene of the attack as police operations continue.

That's all I know at this point but that's still quite a bit of information. We can probably safely say that this was another lone wolf ISIS attack coming off the heels of the attack in Edmonton. It's almost certainly a coincidence because these ramming or stabbing attacks rarely have a connection to core ISIS. Still, the old saying is that bad things happen in threes, so I worry more attacks could be coming.

The attack also shows why it is so necessary for the French to deploy their soldiers on the streets of France. It's a sad state of affairs but that's the world we live in today. These kinds of terror attacks can only be defended by eternal vigilance because they are so easy to attempt. It's just sad that the soldier wasn't able to shoot this guy before he murdered at least two people...

These attacks seem to be coming more often. Sure, the rate of spectacular attacks like 9/11, Paris and the Pulse Nightclub shooting have tapered off but the rate of lone wolf attackers seems to be going up. That might just be in my head, but it seems these attacks are getting more frequent.

I also have to say that these kinds of attacks seem to be more effective than the giant complex ones. It only takes one guy with a knife that is willing to die for the cause. And though only handful of people get wounded or die in these attacks, the increased frequency makes it seem like ISIS and other terror groups are everywhere.
