F-16 flies extremely low through a canyon in Japan during a training exercise.

Not much to say on this one other than it is extremely impressive flying. The F-16 in the above video gets extremely close to the ground and is moving at a very fast pace. The jet is practically scrapping it's belly on the treeline. Very cool.

So why fly so low? Well for one thing flying low helps evade ground to air missiles and radar, they can't get a lock on a target moving that fast and that low to the ground. And in a dogfight where you are at a disadvantage flying low and near ground cover can allow you to escape or even get a maneuverability kill when the enemy can't keep up and smashes into the ground.

Of course in this case it was mostly to look cool!
