Donald Trump's military parade is going to happen on Veterans Day.

Marines march at Donald Trump's inauguration. ABC News/AP.

Donald Trump's military parade is going to happen on Veteran's Day but will not have heavy armor. ABC News. The parade will cover the history of the United States military and will involve the use of historic uniforms. The parade will also feature several military aircraft from American history. Trump got the idea for the parade after seeing the Bastille Day parade in France. The parade will not include tanks due to the damage the heavy vehicles could do to the streets in Washington DC.

My Comment:
Looks like Trump's military parade is going to happen. Not that there was much doubt. As much as certain people were whining about the parade, it was obviously going to happen. And it will happen on Veteran's Day, which will be a great day to honor our veterans.

The parade looks like it will be a bit different than previous affairs. Instead of just having military units parading it sounds like they will be showing off a lot of American history. Having soldiers marching in period uniforms as well as having some of the older warbirds flying by will be very impressive.

Am I upset that there won't be any tanks? A little bit, but I do understand the argument for not including them. The M1A2 is 72 tons and could very obviously tear up the streets in Washington DC. If the US military still had light tanks we might be able to include them, but we don't currently. Perhaps some of our older historical tanks could be used.

I think this plan will silence some of Trump's critics who were saying that the idea of a military parade was more about making Trump look like a dictator than honoring our veterans. That argument was stupid in the first place but now it is very obvious that isn't going to be the case. The use of historical outfits and airplanes shows that it really is about honoring our veterans.

I kinda want to see this parade in person. It would be pretty cool to see it up close. I've been to Washington DC before and it was a good vacation. Maybe I should go back to see this parade? It might be an idea but it could be pretty expensive and I am guessing a lot of other people would have the same idea...
