Kurds are protesting across Europe in a desperate attempt to get help in their fight against ISIS. Yahoo/AP. The Kurds want European action to help the city of Kobani which is surrounded by ISIS fighters. Although airstrikes against ISIS and arms for the Kurds have helped, the Kurds want more to be done. In Brussels, Kurds broke into the European Parliament where some were met by Parliament President Martin Schulz. They also protested in countries like France and the Netherlands, who have contributed airstrikes in Iraq but have left Syria alone for now. In Turkey, protests were met with tear gas and water cannons.

My Comment:
I've got news for the Kurds. Kobani is doomed. Even if Europe and the United States went all out with airstrikes only ground forces can save Kobani. Nobody is willing to deploy troops there and without that the city is doomed. Turkey could, if it wanted to, but their agenda has more to do with screwing over the Kurds then fighting ISIS. They might do something but I doubt they will do enough.

As for Europe I can understand why the Kurds are upset. I've read article after article of U.K., Australian and other countries planes coming back from Iraq with missiles and bombs because they have no targets there in Iraq. There are targets in Syria. Of course the problem with that is that there are no forward air controllers on the ground. The Kurds have no experience in calling in air support and without air controllers the chances of friendly fire are extremely high. Airstrikes have had some effect but unless the area is completely carpet bombed with no regard to friendly casualties it's not the answer the Kurds are looking for.
