ISIS has beheaded yet another British aid worker. Yahoo/AP. Alan Henning, had volunteered to help Syria but was captured by ISIS shortly after crossing the border in December. The video of the murder is believed to be authentic and the execution is most likely carried out by the same man who killed another British aid worker and two American journalists. British, American and French leaders all condemned the murder. In the video the militants threatened to kill yet another aid worker, American Peter Kassig. Kassig, a former Army Ranger, had been captured almost a year ago and had converted to Islam but is still under threat.
My Comment:
Yet another senseless killing. None of these men deserved to die and all of them were either trying to bring attention to the Syrian conflict or help those effected by it. And they all died for it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, ISIS is evil incarnate and they must be stopped. The fact that they will most likely kill Kassig, even though he converted to their religion, shows there is no negotiation with them and no surrender.
And again, these executions are a propaganda coup for ISIS. Not only does it anger and strike fear into their enemies, it encourages copycat crimes. The Frenchman who was executed by an ISIS-affiliate and the attack in Oklahoma are two examples of this spreading, and I have no doubt it will happen again.
