Another company doesn't respect the right to carry firearms. -CNBC

The people that read the article don't particularly like the decision. -CNBC poll

Panera Bread is asking its customers to leave their guns at home. -CNBC. The chain won't ban firearms or confront people that are carrying arms but are asking people that come to their stores to not carry firearms. Panera has joined a string of restaurants and stores, including Starbucks, Chipotle, Sonic and Chili's in asking gun owners to stay at home. Michael Bloomberg's group, Mom's Demand Action, of course hailed the decision.

My Comment:
Yet another store to add to the list of places I will never spend money at. Panera isn't a place I would go anyways but now there is zero chance. Same goes for the other places mentioned in this post. In my eyes, concealed carry permit holders make things safer, not more dangerous. All these statements will do is give the message to criminals; if you rob or shoot up this place nobody will fight back.

Of course there is absolutely nothing preventing a permitted concealed carry holder from just bringing a gun with them anyways. Nobody is going to be able to tell and even if they did find out they won't confront them about it. My question is if someone does bring a concealed gun into one of these stores and a mass shooting goes down? Would these stores change their policies? Maybe. Would Mom's Demand Action admit that they are an astroturf group funded by an oligarch and that they are wrong about every single thing? No chance.

And it's not like there has never been a mass shooting prevented by someone who brought a concealed gun into a gun-free zone. It has happened.  That story of course died right after it happened, so don't expect gun control advocates to know what you are talking about if you mention it... Short memories are pretty common in these cases.
