Ebola outbreak might be worse then suspected. -CBS

Ebola. -Wikipedia.

An unnamed official in Liberia claims that the Ebola outbreak is much worse then has been reported. -CBS. The confidential source, who works for an unnamed medical organization, claims the actual number of infected patients could be double then what has been officially reported. Many patients are afraid to go to doctors and are still continuing to practice traditional burial practices that lead to new infections. The doctor also claimed that Ebola is very hard to contain in the urban setting of Monrovia, the Liberian capital.

My Comment:
This report matches what I have been hearing as well. The people are afraid, they don't trust their government, and they either don't understand the threat, don't believe it, or just don't care. Not going to the doctor and following the most basic safe handling of corpses is going to kill a lot of people. Once again, ignorance and stupidity is proving more deadly then the disease. I'm hoping sooner or later people will figure out that it's either go along with the doctors advice or die horribly, but I am not holding my breath.

I know the article mentioned the report out of New York of a suspected case. As of right now it seems like a false alarm. Expect a lot of those as the disease spreads. I won't bother posting about any of them until they are confirmed. The only ones I know of that have been confirmed at this point are the ones in Nigeria. It will spread eventually, but panicking over every person that throws up on an international flight will not do anyone any good. I'm not saying that our governments shouldn't react to these suspected cases, but the media would do well to avoid spreading rumors at this point.
