Donetsk is completely surrounded. -AP

Rebel leaders are now saying that the city of Donetsk is completely surrounded by Ukrainian forces. -AP The city of Krasnyi Luch has been taken by Ukraine's military, cutting off the one supply route for the city. Ukraine hasn't confirmed the report. Meanwhile in Donetsk and the other main rebel stronghold, Luhansk, conditions have deteriorated. Both cities have come under shelling, and people are in need of food and water.

My Comment:
The noose is getting tighter around the pro-Russian rebels. Should the city actually be surrounded (it's been claimed before that it has been) then all the Ukrainians have to do is wait. It will be a humanitarian disaster of course but at this point it is their best option. Of course Russia might have a different opinion. I still say that Russia doesn't have enough forces in the area yet, but if the situation continues to deteriorate in these two cities there is a real chance of Russia coming over the border. Tense situation indeed.
