A Typhoon jet and the passenger plane. -BBC
A Qatar Airlines flight heading to the U.K was diverted today when the pilot received information about a possible device located on the plane. -BBC Typhoon fighters escorted the plane to Manchester Airport. Officials do not know if the threat is genuine or not, but are taking every precaution.
My Comment:
Hopefully this is just a false alarm, but if it is not could it have something to do with the rumors a while ago about Syrian Terrorists coming to Europe? Even though that case was about Norway they did seem to indicate that other European countries could be the target. Still at this point it's all just speculation. I'll update this post if anything happens this morning.
EDIT: The Guardian has a live feed and they have reported that someone was escorted off the plane. There are some pictures and videos on the feed as well.
EDIT #2: The Guardian is now reporting that it was a hoax. I hope someone throws the book at this moron. They did arrest someone, so hopefully they punish him to the full extent of the law.
